Menka Purswaney

Menka discovered yoga as a child, watching her grandparents and parents practice at home and when she was healed of asthma. Menka’s yoga study training is a combination of studying Vedanta at Chinmaya Mission Hong Kong/ India, Chennai Yoga Studio, India, her certification through Yoga Works and her studies at Iyengar Yoga Hong Kong where she regularly assisted in medical yoga therapy classes.

Her adult yoga classes use interdisciplinary yoga styles to address needs like stiff and tight backs, shoulders, necks, hamstrings, hip flexors and minds.  Her class is great for those who are sitting for hours, looking to prevent injuries/disease- get stronger, get healthier spines, improve digestion, respiration, circulation and improve women/ men’s health.

Her children’s classes are fun packed-  flips and tumbles like handstands and shoulder stands while learning to find stillness.  The class includes yoga stories, yoga songs, yoga games, meditation, anatomy, and arts and crafts related to yoga.  Children gain tools to help them self-regulate, and calm and strengthen the body and mind.
